Competences for a modern teacher

I have been teaching English Language and Literature for 5 years now. I have found this course to be very useful for working in IB. During the course, I had an opportunity to develop a series of lessons and a system of tasks, test my ideas, discuss my ideas with my colleagues. During the course we were encouraged to ask as many questions as possible and constantly give reasons for making a certain choice while teaching. I find it extremely useful to question your own methods and approaches and the course was designed in such a way that it was possible to do just that. I am satisfied with what I have achieved during this course and I am eager to implement my plan in my classroom. After the completion of the course, I was invited to talk about my experience in implementing the lessons which I had designed. We will be returning to Riga in September with four other IB colleagues to continue deepening our knowledge in the field on international education.
